    WHAT IS IPL HAIR REMOVAL?

    Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is attracted to the pigment in hair follicles. The light heats the follicle to a high temperature, stopping the blood supply to the follicle, preventing future hair growth.

    WILL IPL HAIR REMOVAL WORK ON ME?

    IPL works for most people, however it will not work on white hair, red hair or black skin. We offer a free consultation to determine whether or not you are suitable for IPL.

    IS IPL HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?

    Yes. IPL treatment will remove all hair in the target area over a course of treatments at the recommend intervals. However, hormonal changes can activate previously dormant hair follicles to begin producing a small amount of hair.

    HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR MY IPL HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

    Depending on the size of the treatment are, treatments last between 10 to 45 minutes.

    DOES IPL HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

    The sensation is similar to a warm elastic band snapping on the skin, and is not particularly painful. As the course of treatments progress, the discomfort diminishes greatly.

    IS IPL HAIR REMOVAL SAFE?

    Yes. The only function of the technology is hair-reduction, so it will only affect and treat hair follicles.

    HOW MANY IPL TREATMENTS WILL I NEED TO COMPLETELY REMOVE MY HAIR?

    Depending on your medical history, hair and skin type usually between 5 and 10 sessions.

    WILL I REQUIRE FURTHER IPL APPOINTMENTS LATER IN LIFE?

    You may need to have a maintenance touch up treatment every 6 to 12 months once you have finished your entire course. Hormonal changes can activate dormant (non active) hair follicles and stimulate a small amount of new hair growth.

    CAN IPL HAIR REMOVAL CAUSE REDNESS OR IRRITATION?

    There may be a mild redness or irritation after the treatment, as the follicles may be slightly swollen from the treatment.

    ARE THERE ANY MAJOR DANGERS INVOLVED IN IPL HAIR REMOVAL?

    No, there are no dangers involved with IPL hair removal, all our machines are TGA approved ensuring the safest most technologically advanced hair removal treatments.

    IS IPL HAIR REMOVAL REVERSIBLE? CAN I GET MY HAIR BACK IF I CHANGE MY MIND IN A FEW YEARS?

    No, the hair that has been removed from the treatment will be permanently removed.

    HOW OFTEN CAN I GET IPL HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

    We recommend treatment sessions depending on your hair and skin type every 2-6 weeks. To achieve the best results, it is important that you stay within the recommended treatment plan frequency.

    CAN I SHAVE IN BETWEEN MY IPL TREATMENTS?

    Yes, feel free to shave as often as you wish.

    CAN I PLUCK OR WAX WHILE I AM GETTING IPL HAIR REMOVAL?

    No, most definitely not! When the hair has been treated by IPL it needs to be allowed to shed out of the follicle. Plucking or waxing can hinder the effectiveness of the IPL treatment.

    HOW DOES IPL COMPARE TO OTHER HAIR REMOVAL TECHNIQUES?

    With initial IPL treatments you can expect to experience the same type of sensation as waxing. Many people will describe this as a warm elastic band snapping against the skin. As the hair in the treatment area decreases so will the sensation.

    WILL IPL HAIR REMOVAL CHANGE THE STRUCTURE OF MY SKIN?

    No, IPL Laser Hair Removal only targets hair. If you would like a treatment that rejuvenates your skin we have IPL skin rejuvenation treatments.

    WILL I GET INGROWN HAIRS?

    No, quite the opposite. IPL is not only extremely effective for permanent hair removal, it actually reduces the possibility of ingrown hairs. Many clients opt for IPL hair removal to avoid and alleviate ingrown hairs.

    CAN I HAVE IPL HAIR REMOVAL IF I AM PREGNANT?

    There is no evidence to show that IPL hair removal affects pregnancy, however, we do not perform IPL treatments on pregnant clients.

    CAN IPL HAIR REMOVAL WEAKEN MY SKIN?

    No, IPL hair removal will only target the hair.

    HOW OLD IS THE TECHNOLOGY?

    IPL and laser hair removal have been around for 20 years. Over the course of this time the technology has advanced considerably. Our machines are the latest, advanced technology and TGA approved, ensuring a safe and effective treatment.

    I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. WILL ADVANCED IPL HAIR REMOVAL INCREASE MY SENSITIVITY?

    No. Post-treatment you may feel some slight discomfort and irritation, however we will apply a calming gel and recommend suitable homecare products to soothe and protect the treatment area.

    SHOULD I SHAVE BEFORE MY IPL HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?

    Yes, you can shave before your appointment, and continue to shave regularly during the course of your treatments.

    I HAVE A SKIN DISORDER. IS THIS AN ISSUE?

    We offer a complimentary consultation where your medical history, skin type, and any skin concerns will be identified and your suitability for the IPL hair removal treatment will be determined.

    WILL IT MATTER IF I MISS A TREATMENT?

    If you miss a treatment, you won’t receive the full benefit of your IPL course. Ensure that you attend your scheduled treatments on the scheduled date, as your particular plan is tailored to suit your needs.

    CAN I GO OUT IN THE SUN DURING MY IPL COURSE OF TREATMENTS?

    Yes, but as always make sure you are wearing a recommended SPF50+ product. It is best not to directly expose the treated area to the sun.

    CAN I CONTINUE MY REGULAR SKIN CLEANING ROUTINE?

    Keep your skin clean, but do not exfoliate the treatment area for two to three days after your treatment.

    SHOULD I CONSULT A DOCTOR?

    If you have any health concerns at all, it is in your interest to consult a doctor.

    CAN I GET A TAN AFTER MY IPL TREATMENT?

    Yes, you can have a spray on tan after your treatment, however you will need to exfoliate thoroughly  before your next IPL appointment.

    ARE THERE ANY DEODORANTS OR SOAPS I SHOULDN’T USE?

    You can still use deodorants or soaps. However, do not apply any deodorant or other products which may dry out the skin on the day of your appointment.

    CAN I GO SWIMMING AFTER MY IPL HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS?

    Yes, but you must avoid chlorinated water for at least two days after your treatment.
